Structural steel fabricator in Hutchinson, Minnesota, seeks a qualified Structural Steel Designer to become a part of its team! The ideal candidate will have either an A. S. or B. S. degree.

• Generate detailed 3D models and shop fabrication drawings of structural steel towers, trusses, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Generate detailed 3D models and drawings of steel support structures and related equipment for customer review and approval.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerance.
• Provide daily updates for models and drawing completion and prioritize workload.
• Coordinate with other colleagues in the design group regarding complex design details and models.
• Review and modify designs with project manager to minimize fabrication time.

Qualifications

• Experience in modeling and detailing (preferably in the structural steel field)
  • A.S. or B.S Degree
  • 1 year experience preferred, but not required
  • Design drawing interpretation
• Preference given to applicants with knowledge of:
  • 3-D software (Solidworks)
  • Auto-CAD
  • EPDM
  • OSHA and IBC Codes
  • AWS Welding symbols
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Deadline and detail-oriented

Wages

• $22 - $28 per hour
